What is a Berserker?
A Berserker was basically the Viking version of “Hold my ale, watch this.” These legendary Norse warriors fought with such wild ferocity that even their enemies probably needed a change of pants. According to Viking lore, Berserkers would enter a battle-fueled rage called “berserkgang”, becoming insanely strong and practically immune to pain—basically the original "rage mode."
The word “Berserker” comes from Old Norse: “ber” meaning bear and “serkr” meaning shirt, suggesting they either wore bear skins or fought with the intensity of a bear who just found out someone ate all its honey. They were feared, respected, and probably really hard to invite to a peaceful dinner party.
Today, “Berserker” means someone with unstoppable determination, unmatched strength, and a "get out of my way" attitude.
